Major Movez Media: Super 6 Freshmen Who Will Shake Up Women’s College Basketball

By Gary Bell – Major Movez Media

Nyla Brooks, 6-1 , Wing- UNC WBB

Every new women’s college basketball season brings a wave of fresh talent—players stepping on campus for the first time, ready to prove they belong on the biggest stage. Some arrive with five-star rankings and All-American honors, others with chips on their shoulders. But every year, at least a few freshmen take over the spotlight and change the game.

This season is no different. From dominant scorers to versatile playmakers, the 2025 freshman class is loaded with players who will have an immediate impact. Here are my “Super Six” rookies you absolutely need to keep your eyes on in 2025-26.

Nyla Brooks – North Carolina

Brooks is all about impact. A 6-foot-1 All-American guard/wing out of Maryland, she dropped 28 points and 10 rebounds at the Jordan Brand Classic, proving she can shine against the best. Originally committed to Tennessee, Brooks flipped to UNC and will now bring immediate scoring and versatility to Courtney Banghart’s squad.

Jazzy Davidson – USC

Davidson isn’t just good—she’s a future star. She helped Team USA capture gold at the U19 World Cup, putting up 14.6 points, nearly four assists, and three steals per game. At 6-foot-2, she has the size of a forward but the skillset of a guard. With JuJu Watkins sidelined, Davidson will be asked to step up big. Expect her to deliver.

Sienna Betts – UCLA

UCLA fans already know the Betts name, but Sienna is writing her own chapter. A force on the glass and a polished scorer at 6-foot-4, she averaged a double-double with Team USA this summer. Her versatility and defensive presence could be the spark UCLA needs to make another Final Four run.

Aaliyah Chavez – Oklahoma

Chavez is a walking bucket. With nearly 5,000 career points in high school, she was one of the most decorated recruits in the nation. MVP of the Jordan Brand Classic, National Player of the Year, and a scoring average of over 35 points as a senior—Chavez brings instant offense to Oklahoma. She could transform the Sooners into serious contenders.

Aaliyah Chavez ,5-10 Guard– Oklahoma WBB

Emilee Skinner – Duke

Coach Kara Lawson might have her best point guard yet in Skinner. A 6-footer from Utah, she combines creativity with toughness, able to control the pace while making plays for teammates. With her Team USA experience, Skinner should have no trouble running the show in Durham.

Dee Alexander – Cincinnati

Alexander is rewriting history in Cincinnati before she’s even played a game. A three-time Ms. Ohio Basketball, the 6-foot-1 guard chose to stay home despite offers from every powerhouse program in the country. Ranked No. 11 in her class, she has the chance to take the Bearcats back to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2003.
