#MMBR Summer Update: Five North Carolina Prospects Trending Up
The summer basketball season provided North Carolina’s young prospects with opportunities to compete, develop and increase their exposure. Five players distinguished themselves with performances that strengthened their standing entering the next stage of the evaluation period.
Here is the latest #MMBR look at the state’s rising prospects.
1. Micah Gunter | Guard
Micah Gunter displayed the versatility and composure needed to lead from the backcourt. His ability to create offense, play through contact and contribute in multiple areas continues to strengthen his profile.
2. Kaharri Coleman | Guard
Kaharri Coleman’s athleticism, motor and aggressive playing style consistently command attention. He applies pressure at the rim, competes defensively and brings valuable rebounding ability to the backcourt.
3. TJay Brunson | Wing
TJay Brunson offers an appealing combination of positional size and perimeter ability. His potential to score, defend multiple positions and affect the game in transition makes him one of the state’s intriguing young wings.
4. Xavier Hall | Post
Xavier Hall provides valuable size and interior presence. He can finish around the basket, compete on the glass and use his length to protect the paint. His continued development will be important to his long-term ceiling.
5. Chase Smith | Forward
Chase Smith is a developing forward with size, mobility and two-way potential. His ability to rebound, run the floor and contribute around the basket gives him an opportunity to become an increasingly impactful prospect.

All five players are trending in a positive direction. Gunter and Coleman provide dynamic guard play, Brunson offers versatility on the wing, and Hall and Smith bring size to the frontcourt.
